I’ll admit it: when I heard Squid Game was getting a second season, I rolled my eyes. Season one wrapped up so well that I couldn’t see the need for more. I even scoffed, thinking they’d ruin a good thing by continuing the story. Boy, was I wrong. Not only does season two live up to the original, but in my opinion, it surpasses it.
What makes the second season shine is the sheer number of twists and turns. While the first season was gripping, it had a more straightforward, linear narrative. Season two, on the other hand, keeps you guessing at every corner. Yes, the beginning feels a bit slow and some of the reasoning behind how the main character ends up back in the game is a stretch, but once the games begin, it’s a rollercoaster ride of tension and strategy.
One of the highlights for me was the introduction of new characters. The purple-haired guy, in particular, stole the show with his hilarious antics. He brought a fresh energy that balanced the darker moments and made the experience even more entertaining. The dynamic between the contestants felt more complex this time around, diving deeper into alliances, betrayals, and human nature under pressure.
Looking ahead to season three, I can’t help but wonder what’s next. Will Park Sung-hoon survive the chaos? It would be fascinating to see if she fights back against the pack of Squid Game guards until the very end or if she tries to blend in and meet a tragic end because they spotted her on the cameras. The tension is bound to rise, and I’m eager to see how her arc plays out.
And then there’s the question of who will die first: Yang Dong-geun or his mother?

Their dynamic adds another layer of emotional weight to the series, and I’m curious how their fates will unfold. The stakes have never been higher, and the moral dilemmas continue to captivate.
By the end of the season, I was hooked and already speculating about what season three will bring. How will they wrap it all up? Can they top this? I don’t know, but if it’s anything like season two, I’m all in.
